Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: October 15, 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the makesplit software application and platform (the “Service”). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these legal Terms.

1. Scope of the Service

makesplit provides a cloud-based software utility designed to parse transaction hooks from your point-of-sale terminal, apply your customized business logic math, and sync journal entries directly to your accounting platform.

2. Third-Party Payment Systems & Banking Disclaimer

  • Software Utility Only: makesplit is strictly a cloud-based software automation utility and data synchronization bridge. makesplit is not a bank, a money transmitter, a payment gateway, a merchant acquirer, or a financial institution.
  • No Transfer or Custody of Funds: The Service does not collect, hold, custody, possess, transfer, or process actual fiat currency, credit card funds, or merchant deposits. All financial transactions, card settlements, tip transfers, and credit card processing actions are executed entirely within your existing infrastructure via the independent third-party point-of-sale platform (Boulevard POS) and its integrated payment processors.
  • Independent Relationships: You acknowledge that you maintain separate, independent billing and contractual relationships with Boulevard, QuickBooks, Xero, and your respective merchant credit card acquirers. makesplit is not a party to those third-party agreements and is entirely exempt from any liabilities, service interruptions, or regulatory requirements governing those payment networks or financial institutions.

3. Eligibility & Account Security

  • You must be a valid business entity operating legally within your state or country of registration.
  • You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and controlling account configurations, custom split rules, and staff permissions.

4. Subscription Tiers & Billing Rules

  • Subscription: The Service is billed on a month-to-month subscription basis based on your chosen tier.
  • Volume Limits: If you use our Base Plan, you agree to stay within the 150-transaction-per-month ceiling. We reserve the right to prompt an upgrade to the Pro Tier if your operational volume consistently exceeds your plan limits.
  • Cancellations: You can cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your pipeline will halt at the end of your active billing period.

5. Absolute Limitation of Liability

  • No Tax or Accounting Advice: makesplit is a software automation tool. We do not provide professional accounting, tax auditing, compliance certification, or legal payroll advice. You are solely responsible for ensuring your custom splitting formulas comply with local independent contractor (1099) laws, W2 employment regulations, and tax codes.
  • As-Is Software: The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, makesplit shall not be liable for any financial discrepancies, ledger sync calculation errors, tax penalties, processor downtimes, or data mapping disruptions occurring between your integrated third-party platforms (Boulevard, QuickBooks, Xero).

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer our webhooks pipeline, disrupt our server instances, bypass plan volume constraints, or inject malicious payloads into our data ingest engines.

7. Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to alter these terms or change standard pricing points over time. Continued usage of the system after a terms update constitutes acceptance of the new legal definitions.
