makesplit (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your business and financial data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our automated revenue splitting application and website (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Data: When you sign up for our waitlist or create an account, we collect basic contact details including your name, email address, company name, and location.
  • Integration Tokens: To perform our services, you securely link your Boulevard POS account and accounting software (QuickBooks Online/Xero). We collect and store read-only authentication tokens (OAuth 2.0) required to access transaction data.
  • Transactional Ledger Data: We ingest transaction amounts, product sales data, service codes, and contractor identifiers from your POS system to execute your custom splitting rules.

2. Financial Data & Payment Processing Safety

  • No Credit Card Storage: makesplit does not see, process, or store raw customer credit card details, payment credentials, or cardholder banking numbers.
  • Data Minimization: We only process financial transaction summaries and line items required to calculate your business ledger rules.

3. How We Use Information

We use the data we collect strictly to:

  • Provide, maintain, and execute our event-driven automated split accounting calculations.
  • Pipe transaction records and synced journal entries directly into your linked QuickBooks or Xero ledgers.
  • Send you real-time transactional failure or pipeline discrepancy status alerts.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We safely pass transaction structures between your authorized systems (Boulevard POS, QuickBooks, and Xero). We may share data with trusted sub-processors (such as our hosting infrastructure provider, DigitalOcean) strictly to run our backend application.

5. Security Infrastructure

All data transmitted through our architecture is protected using bank-grade AES 256-bit encryption and end-to-end TLS 1.3 data structures.

6. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You can disconnect your POS and accounting integrations instantly at any time. Upon a written removal request sent to connect@makesplit.com, we will permanently purge your workspace configurations and historical data from our server databases within thirty (30) days.
